Kamik Nation Plus Review Canada

Quick verdict: Nation Plus is a lace-up winter boot with a removable liner and a waterproof shell. Its main practical attraction is being able to dry the liner separately after winter chores. The current manufacturer specification and older independent tests describe different liners, so this review separates those versions rather than promising the same fit, warmth or grip from every listing.
Exact model and current Canadian availability
This review covers the current Kamik Nation Plus nameplate. Kamik’s September 2026 Canadian product page identifies its current men’s SKU family as WK0210. The Amazon.ca destination was in stock and sold and shipped by Amazon.ca when checked September 14, 2026, but Amazon identifies its listing as Nationplus-M and changes the child ASIN by colour and size. Because Amazon does not expose the current Kamik SKU, confirm the selected variant’s liner and outsole details before ordering.
Verified specifications
For current SKU family WK0210, Kamik lists a seam-sealed suede and 600D nylon upper, synthetic-rubber shell, 145 g HeatMX removable liner and lace closure. Kamik lists a −40°C manufacturer temperature rating, 27.94 cm (11 in) height, 31.12 cm (12.25 in) circumference and 1,632.93 g (3.6 lb) pair weight for men’s size 9. The temperature rating is guidance, not a personal safety guarantee.
Cold-rating context
Kamik publishes a −40°C comfort rating for the current Nation Plus. That figure should be treated as manufacturer guidance rather than a guaranteed threshold. Activity, wind, exposure time, sock moisture, fit and circulation determine whether the same boot feels comfortable to different wearers.
Waterproof lower and upper seams
The rubber shell protects the foot through slush and shallow water, while the upper’s waterproof construction extends protection higher than a casual shoe. The collar remains an entry point and water can reach the insulation if snow pants direct meltwater inside. Inspect the transition between rubber and upper because flexing and salt exposure concentrate there.
Insulation and removable liner
The current WK0210 specification uses a removable 145 g HeatMX insulated liner that can be taken out for drying. That is valuable after snow clearing or long walks because internal moisture is one of the fastest ways to lose warmth. Earlier Nation Plus test results based on a 200 g Thinsulate liner should not be transferred to the current construction without that distinction.
Everyday mobility
The lace-up shell allows adjustment around the foot, but the liner takes up space inside it. Try walking and bending your ankle in the selected pair with your normal winter socks. We have not measured the current version against Baffin Impact or a lightweight hiking boot, so no direct mobility advantage is claimed.
Fit and width
A pac boot requires enough internal room for liner loft and toe movement. Kamik’s displayed feedback is grouped with related products and contains both tight-fit complaints and a positive fit account. It cannot establish an exact Nation Plus sizing pattern. Use the current size chart and try the boot with one realistic winter sock rather than assuming every wearer should size up.
Traction
The outsole is intended for snow and mixed winter surfaces. Testing of a previous Nation Plus configuration found useful snow and ice grip, but that does not prove the current outsole is identical and it is not a certification for glare ice. Freeze-thaw sidewalks may still require removable cleats.
Canadian ownership
Road salt, repeated flexing and incomplete drying are the main threats. Rinse the rubber lower, remove the liner after wet use and air-dry both components away from direct heat. Store the boot upright and dry rather than compressed in a sealed tote.
Check the version before buying
Check the model code, liner label, selected size and seller’s return terms together. The current manufacturer page describes a HeatMX liner; older independent testing used Thinsulate. If a retailer does not identify the construction, ask the seller before relying on the specifications here. A shared Nation Plus name does not resolve that difference.
Owner evidence
The manufacturer displays feedback grouped with related products, not a separate set of Nation Plus owner reports. This is a limited source for fit questions and cannot support an exact-model satisfaction grade.
What owners report
Kamik’s displayed comments are pooled with related products, so we do not present their praise or complaints as Nation Plus owner findings. That leaves a gap in current-version ownership evidence. Check the selected pair’s fit and return terms rather than treating those pooled comments as a sizing rule.
Independent evidence
OutdoorGearLab, Kamik Nation Plus Review, updated February 14, 2025: 75/100 overall, with 8.0 warmth, 7.5 weather protection, 7.0 comfort and fit, 7.0 traction and 8.0 construction. Its tested boot used 200 g 3M Thinsulate rather than the current 145 g HeatMX liner, so this is previous-configuration evidence. The test also reported water entry near the tongue or gusset, a firm footbed and possible colour transfer when wet.
Why we’re confident
The manufacturer documents the present construction, and the older independent test gives useful historical context. Neither establishes current-version owner satisfaction. The unresolved retailer SKU match also limits how confidently the current specifications can be applied to the linked offer.
Evidence and limits
We have not isolated enough detailed ownership accounts for the current HeatMX version to support a firm satisfaction assessment. The older Thinsulate test remains historical evidence, not a current-version owner grade. The September 14 listing observation above is a dated snapshot, not a claim of live stock today.
Bottom line
Consider Nation Plus if a lace-up shell and separately dried liner suit your winter routine, but confirm which version the retailer is selling. The published cold rating is not a personal comfort guarantee, and older test results do not establish current-version performance. We cannot yet make a strong current-version ownership recommendation.
